Christian Dior became a designer after his visit to Eivissa

Christn Dior's (1905-1957) vocation ocurred after his visit to Eivissa. At least that is how Marie France Pochna describes it in the designer's biography. According to the autor, in 1934 Dior was ruined, ill and jobless so he found refuge in the island, where he discovered a passion for the local tapestry.

"This place far from Paris made me discover the profound and new desire to create somthing myself", confessed the writer. There was someone missing in his funeral, this was Coco Chanel, his eternal rival who often commented that "he doesn't dress women, he makes tapestries". Anyhow, this news is excellent advertising for Eivissa and its fashion.
